He’s nearing a return.
The Golden State Warriors used their off-day on Monday to release some injury updates, and unfortunately, it looks like they’re going to be shorthanded for a while longer. In addition to giving an update on Jonathan Kuminga’s recovery from a sprained ankle (he’ll be re-evaluated in two weeks), the Warriors gave the latest on four-time All-Star forward Draymond Green.
In an official press release, the Warriors stated that “Green is making good progress. He has been doing light on-court work and is expected to rejoin parts of team practices in the coming days. His status will be monitored day-to-day at that point.”
That was a little vague, but thankfully, coach Steve Kerr was on hand to offer a little bit of clarity as to when Green might be shifted to day-to-day. Kerr revealed that Green will miss the next three Warriors games, and hopefully be able to return to practice over the weekend.
Draymond Green will miss the next three games this week. Will hopefully practice Saturday, per Steve Kerr, and go from there. https://t.co/13IOAvp0OZ

That means that Green will miss Tuesday’s home contest against the Utah Jazz, and then a pair of huge games: Wednesday’s home showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Friday’s star-studded home affair against the Phoenix Suns. With the Dubs having the weekend off, the hope is that Draymond can return on Monday when the Warriors host the Orlando Magic, before they take off for a seven-game road trip (with the final game on the trip being on the other side of the All-Star break).
It’s been a tough few weeks for Green. He missed three games in mid-January due to a back injury and illness, then made it just three minutes into his return before injuring his calf, which has cost him the last four games.
Let’s hope he’s back on the court Monday, and can stay on it. The Dubs sorely miss him.
