Adding to the Golden State Warriors’ struggles is Draymond Green’s latest appearance on Shaqtin’ a Fool. This is a segment of TNT’s Inside the NBA, compiling some of the most embarrassing situations of NBA players, done in good jest.
Releasing the first episode of 2025, this week’s edition had veteran Green in it. The 2017 DPOY had Ernie Johnson’s award-winning panel in complete splits. A situation at the free-throw line consisted of the four-time champion taking a fall and dragging Los Angeles Lakers’ Dalton Knecht and Rui Hachimura with him, too.

Draymond Green’s Shaqtin’ a Fool Moment on Christmas Day
The incident took place during the Christmas game between the Warriors and Lakers. Green was at the free throw lane, waiting to catch the rebound if Jonathan Kuminga missed. Though he made the shot, Green didn’t want to risk it, hungry to grab the rebound.
Standing beside Knecht and Hachimura on the free throw lane, Green had his arms tangled up with the Lakers duo as he boxed out. What happened next left the TNT panel and millions of viewers amazed. The veteran forward fell, taking Knecht and Hachimura with him.
As the entire crew of TNT cracked up, Shaquille O’Neal even coined a name for the Warriors forward’s antics, calling it “Dray’s double drop.” Nevertheless, the Michigan native was assigned a foul for his actions, with Shaq, Chuck, and Kenny seconding the decision.

Long History of Fouls and Suspensions
Often finding himself on the wrong side of the officials, Green never fails to surprise. Over the years, the six-foot-six forward has earned multiple suspensions due to his actions. Having a career 21 ejections and numerous techs, Green has often cost Stephen Curry and Co.
Many believe had Green not been suspended for Game 5 of the 2016 Finals, the Warriors could have saved themselves from blowing a 3-1 lead. There was a strong possibility of the four-time All-Star even winning the Finals MVP, given he was one assist shy from a 30-point triple-double in Game 7.
Green’s Future With the Warriors
A second-round draft pick in 2012, Green has surpassed expectations. Revered for his high basketball IQ and defense, the 2016-17 steals leader has played his entire 13-season career in the Bay Area. Playing a pivotal role in their dynasty, the 34-year-old is likely a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
However, in recent years, he has found himself in many controversies. The Warriors veteran’s temperament and on-court scuffles reached a breaking point last year. Adding to this was his decreasing productivity on the offense. Many in the media circles called Green more trouble than he’s worth.
But, he continues to earn his bag, considering the veteran’s contributions toward the franchise. Not to forget his rapport with coach Steve Kerr and Curry’s fading optimism. As constructed, Golden State’s chances to make a run for the playoffs seem dim.
As the management strives to find the right piece to fit alongside Curry, the lack of assets is making things difficult. Hence, this leads to whether general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. is willing to take the bold step of parting ways with Green.
