Another team into the mix!
Wednesday night’s blockbuster trade that saw the Golden State Warriors trade Andrew Wiggins to the Miami Heat in exchange for Jimmy Butler got the finishing touches put on it before being finalized at the buzzer on Thursday afternoon. Veteran point guard Dennis Schröder, originally being reported as landing with the Utah Jazz, has instead been re-rerouted to another team in the deal, the Detroit Pistons.
According to reports, the Pistons are planning on keeping Schröder, not buying him out. He’ll add some strong veteran presence to a young team rising the ranks of the Eastern Conference.

The Pistons will become Schröder’s ninth NBA team, and his sixth since the start of the 2021-22 season. He’s really making the rounds through the NBA!
And with that, the trade deadline comes to a close for the Warriors. Schröder will be joined by Lindy Waters III in Detroit, while Wiggins is joined by Kyle Anderson on the Heat. Golden State hosts Detroit on March 8, and visits Miami on March 25. They’ll have to wait until next season to host Wiggins, but hopefully Schröder and Waters get nice ovations for their short stints in the Bay.
