Saturday night’s historic NBA trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis rocked the basketball world.
And as analysts and experts continue to try to pick up the pieces and make sense of what just happened, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley says there’s another move he would like to see happen involving LeBron James.
Appearing on “Get Up” with ESPN‘s Mike Greenberg, Barkley floated the idea James teaming up with Steph Curry in Golden State, or possibly Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio — likening LeBron’s situation to Tom Brady’s towards the end of his career.

“I would swing for the Warriors,” Chuck admitted Monday. “I would try. First of all, it would be must watch television, to see Steph and LeBron play together. I’m just thinking, just off the top of my head, I think the Warriors would be fascinated, because, listen, Steph and LeBron together. People have been talking about it for years. How about the Spurs? The Spurs got De’Aaron Fox, Wemby, LeBron, they got 100 draft picks.”
“I’m telling you, if I’m the Warriors or the Spurs, because for De’Aaron to learn from LeBron and Wemby to learn from LeBron the next couple years, those are two places I can see would be fascinating.”
The Warriors talk certainly caught the attention of fellow guest Mike Wilbon who said he thinks the Dubs brass would be onboard with the idea.
“I believe they would have to love that,” Wilbon said. “And by the way, we’d be talking about a short-term [thing]. Remember, after next week, there’s only going to be 30 games left in the NBA season.”
“So you’re talking about 30 games and the playoffs. So in a seven game series, you draw a team with LeBron and Stephan Draymond Green, motivated and and presumably healthy?” he posed.
It’s certainly an idea worth looking at if James wants to make another run at championship right now. But who’s to say the Lakers are done making moves after acquiring Luka?
