Last night the Los Angeles Lakers blew yet another double-digit lead to the Denver Nuggets and stand on the precipice of playoff elimination – likely via a sweep. For Charles Barkley, it’s now high-time to start rubbing it in the faces of ESPN’s talking heads.
After last night’s game, Barkley delivered a “PSA” where he declared to those talking up the Lakers and Golden State Warriors were good all year, they’re now heading home. He didn’t call out ESPN by name, referring to them as “the other network” but stated once and for all that the two teams stink.
“I just want to say: All you people kissing up to the Lakers and the Warriors all year long telling me ‘They gonna make a run’ – you know where they gonna run they ass to? The Bahamas. Sunday morning. I told you all along… I hear all these fools on the other network… I told y’all: The Lakers and the Warriors both stink. So stop bragging on them!” Barkley said, with Shaq interrupting a few times.
It’s hard to argue with Sir Charles at this point.
The Warriors bowed out in the Play-In Tournament at the hands of Sacramento, while the Lakers won their Play-In game only to run into what’s effectively been a brick wall against Denver.
Does Barkley have a point? Were the Warriors and Lakers bad from the beginning, or did they just run into some bad luck?
