The Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers has received several offers from Warriors owner Joe Lacob to extend his contract. To this point, Myers has yet to accept any, as he’s unsure what he wants to do. With Myers still deciding what to do, contract talks have been tabled for some time.
The Warriors are approaching a pivotal offseason. Draymond Green can become an unrestricted free agent by declining his player option for next season. Klay Thompson is extension-eligible, after missing two full seasons on his current deal. And Golden State will likely need to replenish some of their roster depth.
Myers is considered exceptionally skilled at handling tricky contract negotiations. For both Green and Thompson, their importance to and history with the Warriors, but their ages make new deals harder to peg. Myers uncertain status looms over those roster decisions.
