All-Star forward Draymond Green will be one of the top free agents this summer. Earlier this week, he declined his $27.6 million player option with the Warriors.
While it’s still possible Green returns to Golden State, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes another Western Conference contender could enter the sweepstakes.
On Thursday night, the Kings cleared cap space by trading center Richaun Holmes and Marquette forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper to the Mavericks.
Windhorst pointed out that Sacramento has enough cap space to “go hunting” for Green in free agency.
“The Kings can now go hunting for Draymond Green if they wish,” Windhorst said. “That would be extraordinarily interesting because he’s the exact type of player they need.”

The thought of Green joining the Kings is fascinating. During the first round of this year’s playoffs, he had a heated exchange with Domantas Sabonis.
Could the Kings find a way to get Green and Sabonis on the same page? Maybe so.
