The Kings are without a head coach after they informed interim head coach Alvin Gentry that he would not be returning in 2022-23. Sacramento set a set a league record for most missed playoff berths (16) after going 30-52 this past season.
Jackson, a former NBA All-Star, improved the Warriors’ record in each of his three seasons as head coach for Golden State. From 2011-14, he collected a 121-109 overall record. He led the team to back-to-back postseason appearances in his final two seasons as an NBA head coach.
Jackson, 57, has been working as a broadcaster for ESPN since 2014.
Brooklyn consultant Steve Clifford and Golden State assistant Mike Brown are also final candidates for the job, per ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
