The Sacramento Kings were close to acquiring Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls last week before he was traded instead to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell Sam Amick and Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Sacramento’s package to the Bulls for Caruso included the No. 13 pick in the draft.
The Bulls instead opted for a player-for-player swap in taking back Josh Giddey for Caruso. Giddey is eligible for a contract extension this offseason.
The Kings continue to shop the No. 13 pick in hopes of acquiring a veteran.
