Here’s all the info you need for Saturday’s Wall of Fame induction ceremony for Affeldt, Casilla, Lopez and Romo.
Good morning, baseball fans!
If you’re heading to the ballpark Saturday, or even considering it, here’s what you need to know about the festivities taking place at Oracle Park.
The San Francisco Giants are inducting World Series legends the Core Four, aka Jeremy Affeldt, Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez and Sergio Romo, into their Wall of Fame.
The team is encouraging fans to be in their seats by 3:15 p.m. for the ceremony, which will feature appearances by over a dozen Forever Giants, including Ryan Vogelsong, Brian Wilson, Buster Posey, George Kontos, and many more.
The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a Mt. Core Four Statue giveaway. Which is exactly what you think it is, a replica of Mt. Rushmore with the Core Four’s faces on it. Is it a little creepy looking? Absolutely. But it’ll be a great addition to any collection.
What time do the Giants play this weekend?
The Giants close out the first half of the season by wrapping up this three-game series against the Minnesota Twins, with Saturday’s game beginning at 4:15 p.m. and Sunday’s game beginning at 1:05 p.m. PT.
