The Cardinals come to town as the Giants get ready to play their last series of the year this weekend. Here’s what’s going on at Oracle Park if you’re planning to go.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants are set to begin their final series of the year tonight, against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.
As maddeningly frustrating as this team can be at times, I know that given a few weeks, we’ll all be missing them as we sit around the (likely) luke-warm stove, counting down the days until Spring Training starts.
If you’re heading to the park this weekend to get your last fix of baseball for the year, here’s what you need to know.
For Friday night’s game, make sure to get there early because the Willie Mac Award ceremony will take place prior to the game. A highlight of every season, fans can expect a lengthy list of Forever Giants to be in attendance for the festivities. Fans should plan to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. to watch.
The rest of the weekend will be Fan Appreciation Weekend. They aren’t giving away too many details just yet, as of the time this is being written, but the website says fans can expect many “exciting surprises” so take from that what you will.
Have a great weekend, everyone, and enjoy the last bit of baseball while you can. I’ll see you on the other side.
What time do the Giants play this weekend?
The Giants and Cardinals play Friday night at 7:15 p.m., Saturday afternoon at 1:05 p.m., and Sunday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. (all games start at the same time on Sunday).
