The Dodgers are champions, but that’s so last year.
You might not know this, but the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series. We all knew it was coming eventually, but we all thought maybe it wouldn’t happen this year.
But on the bright side, that silly stupid season is now over. And now we can move onto the offseason.
Here are a few dates to keep in mind for the San Francisco Giants.
The offseason officially started yesterday. That means the Giants can start talking with their own free agents, and can make trades. On Tuesday, the Giants can start negotiating with other players.
Hopefully sometime they hire a GM, but who knows. Would be nice. Unless it’s someone we don’t want, then it wouldn’t be nice (sorry, Bobby Evans).
The GM meetings begin on Monday, but truthfully, there probably isn’t much that’s going to happen there.
Things get juicier in mid-November, as the 19th is the day to make Rule 5 protections, and the 22nd is the deadline to tender contracts to the team’s four arbitration-eligible players (Mike Yastrzemski, LaMonte Wade Jr., Camilo Doval, and Tyler Rogers).
The Winter Meetings kick off on December 8, and sometime around then the Giants will finish a distant third for Juan Soto.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Until it isn’t.
How many days until Opening Day?
146! And then we can start a new season that hopefully doesn’t end with the Dodgers celebrating.
