With the Giants headed to Kansas City to take on the Royals this weekend, let’s take a wander down nostalgia boulevard and revisit the most infamous game played between the two teams.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants head to Missouri today to begin a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals.
If your brain is anything like mine, you can’t help but be reminded of the time the Giants went to Kansas City and brought home a championship, ten years ago next month.
With that in mind, and since it’s the weekend and we deserve nice things, why don’t we take a look back at Game 7 of the 2014 World Series.
Just thinking those words brings to mind a visceral memory of watching Madison Bumgarner take the field from the bullpen. It’s a trick that many managers have tried since, mostly to their detriment, but there will never be another performance quite like it.
Heck, there may never be another performance anything like what Bumgarner accomplished in the 2014 postseason overall.
Here, in its entirety, is Game 7. Enjoy your weekend, folks!
