If you’re thinking about heading to Oracle Park this weekend, here’s what you need to know.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants return to Oracle Park after two weekends away, as they welcome the Miami Marlins to town to begin a three-game series starting tonight.
This will be the third to last home series of the season, so if you’re thinking about heading out to a game. here’s what you need to know for this weekend’s promotions and giveaways because it’s a pretty good weekend for them.
Friday night will feature a fun post-game event for families, as a drone show will take place once the game is over. This event will feature characters from family movies such as Toy Story and Inside Out. These will be a silent alternative to a fireworks display, which ties in perfectly with the special event taking place, which is Autism Acceptance Night. This will include a Will Clark hat for those who have special event tickets (which are sold out).
While taking a look at the event information website, I saw something that I’m not sure I had seen before. It said that Oracle Park offers sensory bags all season long to “provide our fans with a curated and controlled sensory experience.” Which is pretty cool and definitely something I’ll be checking out next time I’m at the park.
Saturday’s special event is not sold out, so if you’re a Giants fan and a person of faith, this might be one for you as it’s Fellowship Night at Oracle Park. Special event ticketholders will receive a blanket and be able to access a post-game concert by Mac Powell of Third Day, as well as player testimonials. These will take place on top of the visitor’s dugout 30 minutes after the last out.
For everyone else attending Saturday’s game, there will be a Logan Webb t-shirt giveaway for the first 20,000 fans in attendance.
Sunday’s game will heavily feature Buster Posey in both the special event and giveaway. The special event will be a Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day (that being the Posey family’s charitable cause of choice) and for everyone else, there will be a really cool Buster Hugs Funko Pop figure giveaway to the first 15,000 fans in attendance.
As always with cool giveaways, I recommend getting there early and also heading to the Marina Gate, which is usually less crowded than the other entrances.
If you’re heading to the yard this weekend, have fun!
