How are Giants fans feeling about the offseason so far?
Good morning, baseball fans!
Long time, no see. I hope you are all doing well. I’m sending all the good thoughts to anyone who might have been/is being affected by the fires in Los Angeles. There are very few instances in life where I’m not rooting against Los Angeles. But this is definitely one of the rare exceptions.
Due to an overwhelming amount of personal stuff going on, I have been pretty out of the loop on the happenings with the San Francisco Giants this offseason. When last we met, Buster Posey had just been announced as the new President of Baseball Operations.
Since then, the only alert I’ve gotten was the signing of Justin Verlander, which promptly made me do a double-take and ask Siri how old he is. It will be kind of nice to have an active Giants player who is older than me again. It’s been a while. I guess that’s the highest praise I have for that move.
I also saw that the Giants lost out on Rōki Sasaki, which is a bummer. My family was particularly excited about that possibility.
Anyway, I wanted to check in to see how you all are feeling about the offseason so far? Are we optimistic? Are we feeling like it’s business as usual? What has stood out to you the most so far?
How many days until Opening Day?
71 days to go now.
