No issues with the physical!
You can all breathe a sigh of relief. For the second time in three years, the San Francisco Giants agreed to a franchise-record contract with someone they believed to be their shortstop for the foreseeable future. But this time there was no problem with the physical. There were no sneaky ankle bones that were flagged on the MRIs.
This time it actually became official.
On Tuesday, the Giants officially announced their seven-year, $182 million contract with Willy Adames, who had agreed to terms with the team on Saturday. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday and, before the jokes come rolling in, I feel compelled to note that the date of the press conference was known before the physical was passed, even if the event wasn’t officially scheduled.

Unlike with previous recent contracts, the Giants didn’t release all the details about Adames’ contract, though they noted that he will make an annual contribution to the Giants Community Fund.
Adames himself wasted no time making the news official.

And his new teammates seem pretty excited, too.
