We have reached the most painful decade to pick a favorite. Choose wisely.
Good morning, baseball fans!
We have arrived at the part of this series that is going to be the most difficult for a lot of us. It’s time to pick your favorite San Francisco Giants player from the 2010s. The Giants won three World Series championships during that decade, so, you know, it’s not like there’s a lot of players to choose from.
I feel like the obvious answer is Buster Posey. Or Madison Bumgarner. Two players who will, in my humble opinion, be Hall of Famers easily.
However, my answer has to be Brandon Belt. Hear me out. The seasons where they won it all were great, really! 10/10, would recommend, fun for the whole family.
However, the last half of the decade was a little less fun for anyone in the family. And you know who was there, hitting dingers and being unappreciated by KNBR callers from around the Bay Area? Brandon Belt. You know who was there in a giraffe costume and motorcycle jacket or a Beat L.A. hat entertaining us in the commercials? Brandon Belt.
That’s my wildly biased answer though. You’ve got your pick of dozens of amazing players that helped this team win three World Series in five years.
Who is your favorite Giants player of the 2010s?
