La Stella will return for the Giants game against the Diamondbacks.
Hello and happy Wednesday.
The San Francisco Giants should be getting a player back today, as left-handed hitting infield Tommy La Stella is expected to be activated off of the 60-day Injured List.
Tommy La Stella is eager to rejoin the Giants tomorrow, and he’s very excited to be teammates with fellow former cub Kris Bryant again. “He’s awesome, awesome!” La Stella says.

The Giants have become a very good and very deep team, so it’s hard to find an easy way to get La Stella back on the roster. He’ll need a space cleared for him on not just the 26-man active roster, but on the 40-man roster as well.
La Stella, who signed a three-year deal with the Giants over the offseason, hasn’t played since May 2. He’s only had 75 plate appearances on the year, and is hitting .235/.297/.353. The Giants currently don’t have any left-handed hitters who can play second base, third base, or shortstop, so La Stella’s presence will help the team find the best matchups.
