We’ve got four games on deck for today’s playoff action. Here’s everything you need to know to follow along.
Good morning, baseball fans!
We’ve got a jam-packed day of playoff baseball on deck for today. For the first time since Saturday, all four division series will have games, so we’re looking at baseball from noon until bed time.
First up, we have the visiting Cleveland Guardians taking on the Detroit Tigers in game three of their series, which is currently tied at one game each. Old friend and Guardians right-hander Alex Cobb will be getting the start against … well, somebody. It looks likely to be an opener but as of late Tuesday night, it hadn’t been announced. This game will begin at 12:08 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on TBS.
Next up, the visiting Philadelphia Phillies will play game four of their series against the New York Mets. It’s win-or-go-home for Philadelphia, after New York dominated on Tuesday to take a 2-1 lead. Getting the start for the Phillies will be left-hander Ranger Suárez, who will be facing off against Mets left-hander Jose Quintana. The game will start at 2:08 p.m. PT and air on FS1.
After that, it will be the visiting New York Yankees taking on the Kansas City Royals in game three of their division series, which is tied at one game each. Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt will get the start against Royals right-hander Seth Lugo. The game will start at 4:08 p.m. PT and air on TBS.
Lastly, the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers will play their fourth game against the San Diego Padres. Thankfully the Dodgers are on the brink of elimination after a thrilling Padres victory on Tuesday night, which has San Diego up 2-1. Los Angeles is opting for a bullpen game, while San Diego is turning to righty Dylan Cease, who pitches on short rest after starting Game 1 on Saturday. Tonight’s game will begin at 6:08 p.m. PT and air on FS1.
Happy watching, and as always, BEAT LA!
