The Giants have already hit their share of dingers in their first few games. Who do Giants fans think will lead the team in home runs in 2025?
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants are off to a good start to the 2025 season. Over their first three games, they have hit five home runs. Which, to be fair, were all hit in the band box that is the Great American Ball Park. But still, pretty good so far.
As of the time this is being written, the current home run leaders are Wilmer Flores and Heliot Ramos, who have each hit two. Matt Chapman follows behind with one of his own. But who will reign supreme over the course of the season?
I feel like a safe guess would probably be Chapman, who led the team in 2024 with 27. However, Ramos was right behind him with 22 in about 100 fewer at-bats so I wouldn’t count him out either.
That said, Willy Adames hit 32 for the Milwaukee Brewers last season. I’m sure there will be an adjustment period while he gets used to hitting at Oracle Park, but he has averaged roughly 30 per season over the last three years. So I’m going to choose optimism and hope he can do the same this year. It would not only put him at the top of the pack, but make him the first Giant in decades to hit 30 home runs.
A girl can dream, anyway.
