What movies and television shows are your go-to when you’re feeling the offseason blues?
Good morning, baseball fans!
We have reached the point of Spring Training where the excitement from pitchers and catchers reporting has passed and the anticipation for games has begun.
In keeping with this week’s theme about traditions, I wanted to see which baseball films and shows are your go-to for when you’re feeling the mid-winter blues.
Earlier this week, we talked about our favorite baseball music. Thankfully, this form of media has a lot more options. But two of my favorites were included on that list as well. A League of Their Own and the episode of The Simpsons titled “Homer at the Bat” are both on my list.
No list would be complete without The Sandlot and another of my personal favorites is Rookie of the Year. (Can you tell I grew up in the 1990s?) I also really loved the show Pitch, for the one season it aired before getting canceled.
But it’s not just baseball-centric media on my list, because I love baseball in everything. The incredibly campy baseball scene in Twilight? Love it. The episode of Grey’s Anatomy where all the doctors played softball? A personal favorite.
What are your favorite baseball movies and shows?
