It’s what you’ve all been waiting for.
Hello and happy Thursday.
Today, the San Francisco Giants face the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final time in 2021, to conclude the penultimate series of the year.
And they’re facing off against one of the most legendary, memorable, and beloved pitchers in franchise history: Madison Bumgarner. Buster Posey is expected to start, meaning he’ll face Bumgarner as an opponent for the first time in their respective careers.
It will be an emotional moment for the two, who debuted in the same season, were teammates on the Giants for 11 seasons, and won three world titles together. And it’s great that it will happen in front of the fans at Oracle Park.
But let’s get to the real legend vs. legend story of the game. It’s one Giants pitching legend, Bumgarner, vs. another Giants pitching legend: Scott Kazmir.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for this one for years.
