Here’s everything you need to know for today’s American League Division Series action.
Good morning, baseball fans!
First and foremost, for any members of our community who are dealing with the effects of the recent hurricanes, please let us know in the comments how we can help. We’ve got you all in our hearts.
Yesterday, the New York Mets became the first team to make it to their league’s Championship Series. As the best friend of a Mets fan, I cannot overstate how bad that is for the health of Mets fans everywhere. But congrats nonetheless.
Today, the American League Division Series carry on with their fourth games.
First up, the visiting Cleveland Guardians attempt to stay alive against the Detroit Tigers, who hold a 2-1 series lead. As of late Wednesday night, Detroit had yet to announce a starting pitcher, but whoever it ends up being will face off against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee (not to be confused with the former McCovey Chronicles fearless leader Brant Grisbee). The game will start at 3:08 p.m. PT and be broadcast on TNT.
After that, the visiting New York Yankees will be attempting to close out their series against the Kansas City Royals, who will need to win today’s game to stay in the series. Taking the mound for the Yankees will be right-hander Gerrit Cole, who will be facing off against Royals right-hander Michael Wacha. This game will begin at 5:08 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on TBS.
Happy watching! And…as always…you know….BEAT LA. Tomorrow. I don’t know, I’m just going with it until I get my annual sad Kershaw picture.
