Yesterday, we asked Giants fans to weigh in on the team’s season so far. Today, let’s find out what they think of the competition so far.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants have been off to a pretty strong start to the 2025 season. Yesterday, I asked you guys to weigh in on what you thought of their season thus far, as I’d like to do periodically over the year.
Today, let’s check in on the competition. Which teams have impressed you? Which teams did you expect to be doing better?
Personally, I’m kind of sick of the National League West. The 2021 season perfectly encapsulated the frustration of trying to compete in this division. The Giants had the absolute best season they could possibly have and they still ended up being chased for the division until the closing moments of the season.
My point is that it’s annoying. Being in a division with the Los Angeles Dodgers (and the San Diego Padres I guess) is annoying. Even when you’re on top, it still feels like you’re fighting from behind. I don’t enjoy it.
The one team I have been surprised by so far is the Chicago Cubs. As I mentioned yesterday, it is still really early in the year and the sample size doesn’t mean a ton. But I was not expecting to see them in first place in their division (as of the time this is being written).
