Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went to Game Four of the World Series solely to root against the Los Angeles Dodgers
Central Valley native Josh Allen is having a tremendous season for the Buffalo Bills. But this week, he showed loyalty to Bay Area teams by beating the San Francisco 49ers’ division rivals and by attending Game 4 of the World Series purely to root against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

One day after Allen threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills’ 31-10 shellacking of the Seattle Seahawks, he took the Bills quarterbacks to Game 4 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium. Buffalo backup Mike White is a big Yankees fan, whereas Allen is a fan of the San Francisco Giants. And anyone who can beat L.A.
“I’m a fan of whoever’s playing the Dodgers,” Allen told reporters when he was back at Bills practice Wednesday. Allen grew up in Firebagh, a town of 7,500 people located 40 miles west of Fresno in the Central Valley. That meant his local baseball team growing up was the Fresno Grizzlies, who were the Giants Triple-A affiliate from 1998-2014, only switching team affiliations after Allen was out of high school.
That made him a big Giants fan, and thus, a hater of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Allen played baseball in high school and reportedly hit 90 MPH with his fastball, while also earning honors for his cultivation of canteloupes, cotton, and wheat. In other words, he believes in a strong farm system, just like Buster Posey! There’s no way Josh Allen would go out and sign the most expensive free agent vegetables at the farmers market, year after year, like some teams.
Posey is the reason Allen always signs autographs for fans, thanks to a time he signed for the future NFL star at a Giants game.
Allen can relate to the Giants because he’s familiar with being rejected. Allen couldn’t get a football scholarship coming out of high school, and ended up at the University of Wyoming, not a traditional football powerhouse. We bet Fresno State feels like Carlos Correa right now while watching Allen star in the pros.
While he was wearing a Yankees cap during Tuesday’s 11-4 win, Allen was representing for the Giants with a heart brimming with hatred for the Dodgers. He also supports the Golden State Warriors, in case Joe Lacob wants to send him some free tickets to help the team’s mojo like he helped the Yankees.
The Bills host the Miami Dolphins Sunday, so Allen won’t be attending another game in the series. But the 49ers have a bye, and Games 6 and 7 (if necessary) will be in Los Angeles. Perhaps Brock Purdy wants to treat his backups to a trip to Dodger Stadium this weekend (if necessary) to keep that good old-fashioned baseball hating going.
