Another one in the books.
For the first time in half a year, you woke up with no San Francisco Giants baseball to look forward to. Well, unless you’re looking towards the Arizona Fall League season, which starts in a week or so. Or unless you’re looking towards Spring Training which, hey … only about four-and-a-half months out! And Opening Day 2025? Only 178 days away!
But baseball is, from a Giants perspective, done for the year. Time to hibernate.
It’s why this article is up five hours late. Because I went to Sunday’s game, had a lovely time despite the lopsided score, and then said goodbye to baseball. I forgot to properly write goodbye, and now, here we are.
There’s still a lot of reasons to tune into the baseball world in the coming days and weeks, though. The Giants are expected to make a decision on whether or not to retain president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi within the next day.
Blake Snell’s free agency is now off and running, and looming over the Giants. The offseason in earnest is right around the corner. And our favorite annual holiday, the Dodgers Got Eliminated Day is fast approaching.
So don’t go anywhere. But tuck the Giants season into bed and bid it goodnight. And hop into the comments to tell me your favorite memory from a 2024 season that, while disappointing and frustrating and confusing, was still another delightful year of getting to watch the Giants play baseball at their perfect park.
