As the season gets closer, it’s time to start scouting which games we want to get to. Let’s find out which opposing teams Giants fans are most interested in watching at Oracle Park this year.
Good morning, baseball fans!
We are slowly but surely making our way towards meaningful San Francisco Giants baseball. Now is the time where I start perusing the schedule with more interest to see which games I might want to attend.
For me, there are multiple factors involved in choosing a series to attend. It’s about a four-hour trip each way to get to the city, so usually that means a Saturday game. Then I look at the promotional calendar to see what the best giveaways are. Then I look at who they’re playing.
If at all possible, I try to avoid games against the NL West. I see enough of the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks on television throughout the year, the Colorado Rockies are just sad, and the Los Angeles Dodgers series aren’t as fun these days.
Personally, when possible, I try to see inter-league play. Now that teams are certain to face each other at least once per season, it makes it a lot easier to catch a game against a team I might not otherwise ever have the occasion to see in person. So for me, I think this season that would be the Boston Red Sox when they come to town in June.
