Buster Posey indicates that the Giants may have already made all the moves they’re planning to make this offseason. Will it be enough?
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants may be turning off the hot stove for the year sooner than anticipated. According to an article by Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic earlier this week, president of baseball operations Buster Posey had this to say:
“We’ll keep looking. I will say, we feel pretty set with the roster the way it is right now.”
However, per another report from Baggarly back in November, the organization seems to be focusing on cutting back on spending this season.
So any money they save on, say, trading Taylor Rogers to the Cincinnati Reds for salary relief, will not necessarily be reinvested into the upcoming season. Because it’s 2025 and austerity measures are so back, baby.
All this to say that you may want to dial down your expectations for what’s left of the free agent market.
Have the Giants done enough to shake things up after their disappointing run of recent seasons? I don’t really think so. But then again, that doesn’t seem to have been their goal in the first place.
How many days until Opening Day?
