The Giants and Dodgers wrap up their last series of the year at Oracle Park this afternoon.
The San Francisco Giants wrap up this three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers this afternoon at Oracle Park.
As of the time this is being finalized (extremely late Saturday night/early Sunday morning) the Giants have not announced a starting pitcher for today’s game. That could be because of how many bullpen arms they went through in yesterday’s loss, who’s to say. But I’m off Sunday and I don’t feel comfortable even hazarding a guess at the moment, given the state of the pitching staff. But feel free to share/look for the news in the comments.
Whoever it ends up being will be facing off against Dodgers left-hander James Paxton, who enters today’s game with a 3.39 ERA, 2.42 FIP, with 49 strikeouts to 36 walks (yes, that’s correct. I double-checked) in 71.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Dodgers’ 3-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday, in which he allowed just three hits with six strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
