Texas rematch!
The Oakland A’s are hot! They’ve won seven games in a row, and 11 out of their last 13 contests. And their latest sweep, over the Cleveland Indians, came with three different franchise records on the field.
Before sweeping Cleveland, the A’s swept the Texas Rangers last weekend, and now they get a rematch against the Rangers. This time it will take place on the road in Arlington.
Oakland puts Cole Irvin on the mound Friday. His last outing came against the Rangers, and he worked seven quality innings with two runs crossing the plate. Both runs came in the 1st inning on a homer by Adolis Garcia, and then Irvin completely shut down Texas for the rest of the day.
The A’s lineup will face Dane Dunning, who tossed four scoreless innings against them in a start in early July. Of course, he more infamously started against them last fall in the Wild Card Series as a member of the Chicago White Sox, lasting just four batters in an eventual series-clinching Oakland victory.
