Three in a row?!
Woo! Two straight wins after a tough Opening Day loss. This team is looking strong early against a division foe that wants to make the postseason. Wouldn’t winning three of four be a nice jump start to the season?
Taking the bump for the good guys today in the series finale is left-hander JP Sears, who is set to make his 2025 debut. The lefty has been a consistent force in the A’s rotation but the hope is that the third-year lefty can take a step forward and be more than an innings eater. It wasn’t an easy spring as Sears allowed runs in all five of his starts in March during camp. Was he working on something we fans can’t see, or is this a sign of things to come?
The A’s lineup behind Sears tonight looks like this:

Just a couple of changes from the first few games. Starting catcher Shea Langeliers gets his first off day after starting the first three games of the year, taking a backseat to backup catcher Jhonny Pereda. Additionally infielder Max Schuemann will be making his first start of the season for the Athletics, taking over at second base for Max Muncy, who started all three games at the keystone to open the season. Let’s get after it, boys.
Seattle will send out right-hander Bryan Woo to counter Sears in today’s start. Woo thrived in his first full season last year, tossing 121 1⁄3 frames with a pristine 2.89 ERA over that span. The A’s need to hit him early before he gets into a groove, or else he might have the club’s number all year.

Let’s go A’s! Taking three of four sounds good, doesn’t it?
