An evenly played series to be determined by a Sunday rubber-match
Good evening and happy Sunday AN.
The A’s are set to wrap up their seven-game home stand this afternoon as they take on the Detroit Tigers for the rubber match of the best of three. The A’s won Friday by a run in dramatic walk-off fashion while the Tigers returned the favor winning by a run yesterday in a pitchers duel.
For the A’s, it’ll be J.T. Ginn making his third start and sixth appearance of the season. The former second-round pick has been serviceable through two prior starts going five innings allowing four hits and four earned against the Cincinnati Reds on August 29th then going six frames allowing just two earned against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.

As for the Tigers, skipper A.J. Hinch will utilize a bullpen game with Beau Brieske getting the starting nod. This will be his ninth time opening a game this season, and here’s the lineup that’ll be playing him:
