What a game. A back-and-forth, 13-inning thriller ended with a victory for the Oakland Athletics last night after several big hits from Seth Brown. Today, the A’s will try to spoil the Detroit Tigers’ playoff chances once again, potentially putting a nail in their coffin.
Leading the way will be recent callup Brady Basso, making his first ever major league start. Meanwhile, the Tigers are going with an opener in Brenan Hanifee, who had a chance to save the game in the 10th last night but gave up a game-tying double to Brent Rooker.
After his heroics last night, Brownie’s moving up to third in the lineup order, while Daz Cameron, Nick Allen, and Kyle McCann are all getting starts off the bench.

Facing a lefty, the Tigers are also switching things up quite significantly.
