Here we go
We are finally here. The last game of the season. It’s been a long and difficult year but it comes to an end today here in Seattle as the club gets one last chance to secure that 70th win of the season.
Wrapping up the season for our A’s will be rookie righty Mitch Spence. But is Spence really a rookie anymore? He’s been one of the Athletics’ most reliable starters here in 2024, starting 23 games after beginning the year in the bullpen. He’s sporting a decent 4.35 ERA but continues to show flashes of what he can be down the line. Anyone else excited to see what Spence does in Year 2?
Anyway, here is how the final OAKLAND Athletics will line up in today’s finale against the Mariners:

That lineup will be going up against Seattle ace Logan Gilbert, so of course we need to load up the batting order with all the lefties we got. We’re seeing Tyler Soderstrom in the three-hole in the finale and why not? Let’s let the young guys play, especially with no spoiler duties for the club in today’s finale.
Here is how Seattle will line up for game 162:

Let’s go A’s! Finish off the season strong and finish with a nice 70-win season. Take what you can take.
